About Me

Award-winning author, Ann Daum described herself as a "culture straddler", and I feel I do the same. I have had one foot in the urban community, one in the rural; I have grown up knowing and being apart of the wealthy community, the middle class, and the impoverished; I have grown up American, but I have been brought up from an early age to understand multiple cultures.

If you want to know the me as written on paper, on a resume, I would look something like this: I was raised in Hong Kong, China; Wheaton, Illinois; and Naperville Illinois. I have an English Literature Major and an English Creative Writing Major from Loras College. I am a practicing writer and studio artist, and my hobbies include theatre and costuming. I am passionate about traveling. Throughout my life I have been fortunate enough to travel to 16 different countries spanning over 3 continents, and have made friends and connections with fascinating people across the globe. Through them, I've learned to about different cultures and also incorporated them into my daily life.

But like all people, I am more than just these simple facts.
